                Medical transcription (MT) is the manual conversion of spoken reports into text that are dictated by doctors and other healthcare professionals. Usually, healthcare professionals dictate medical records into voice files and send them to the hospital's MT staff. After that, text is created from the voice files.


The electronic health record (EHR) or electronic medical record (EMR) system at the hospital typically receives the transcribed medical reports that are prepared in digital form.
